Ford Focus RS Drift Mode in Action

Drifting is one of the most exhilarating experiences in the automotive world! While we wouldn’t recommend drifting when it isn’t safe, when it is done in a safe place in a safe way, drifting can be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, many vehicles cannot drift well at all. For those that can drift, the ability to do so can be extremely difficult for drivers.

That’s where Ford stands out from the competition, as the Focus RS comes with equipped with a Drift Mode button. The Ford Focus RS Drift Mode makes drifting not only a safe experience, but also makes drifting easier for drivers to achieve.

How easy is it for drivers to drift with the Ford Focus RS? Recently, Alex Goy of Carfection proved just how easy it is by placing his mother behind the wheel of the Ford Focus RS.

Described by Goy as a timid driver, Goy’s mother is the last person you would expect to drift on the road. However, with help from the Focus’ Drift Mode, she soon mastered the technique and was drifting with ease!

For those drivers who want more thrills without expending more effort, the Ford Focus RS is a must, thanks to its incredible Drift Mode.

Ford’s Infotainment Systems Look Past Google and Apple

In today’s world, vehicles aren’t just mechanical machines that get us from point A to point B, they are seen as way to stay connected with the world around us and have more computerized systems in them than most of us have in our houses.

Through trial and error automakers are realizing the importance of the built-in infotainment system and how the performance of those systems can make or break a brand. Ford may have learned this lesson better than any other brand, which is why it is working hard to develop new systems that are fast, easy-to-use, and intuitive, like its new SYNC 3 system.

However, developers for Ford’s infotainment systems are even looking past that. Ford is currently working with Toyota to develop an alternative infotainment platform to rival Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition, Ford is looking at a new kind of customer: cities.

As cars and cities become more connected, Ford’s future technology aims to help solve traffic congestion and other mobility solutions for urban areas.

By continuing to innovate and not giving in to big names brands, Ford wants to make sure its current and future customers have a choice in how they connect to their car and the world around them.

2018 Ford Fiesta Spy Shots Show It Is Growing Up

At the smallest end of the Ford lineup is the subcompact Fiesta. However, Ford Fiesta spy shots show that it might be a little less compact when the 2018 model makes its debut later next year.

Before releasing a production version of a redesigned car, vehicle manufacturers need to take it out on road tests to make sure it performs how it’s supposed to. However, in order to preserve some of the model’s new design characteristics, the vehicle is covered in swirly black and white camouflage. While this hides the details, it sure makes the car stand out, which is why it is easy for photographers to catch these prototype vehicles.

In the spy photos for the new Fiesta, we can see it has a longer wheelbase along with a flattened out front end instead of the rounded one it has now. In addition, the taillights are switched from the current vertical layout to a wider-looking horizontal design.

When the 2018 Ford Fiesta makes its debut next year, it will be the start of the seventh generation. It will be the first complete redesign for the subcompact car since the 2009 model year.

What features or styling would you like to see in the redesigned Ford Fiesta?

New 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Video Shows Model Shredding in the Desert

Ford continues to outperform the competition when it comes to trucks – namely, their best-selling Ford F-150 pickup truck line – and the automaker is also hard at work with a specific variant: the stunning new Ford F-150 Raptor.

In a new video, which you can watch here on YouTube courtesy of the Ford Performance channel, Ford showed off the F-150 Raptor’s insane off-road talents, right in the Mojave Desert.

Of course, the video opens with a warning that you should not try this at home, but nonetheless, it’s astonishingly impressive. We see the video climb sand like its no big deal, fly through the air, and even crawl over rocks.

And thanks to some slow motion shots in the Ford F-150 Raptor video, you can even get a close-up of the new Raptor’s design.

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is scheduled to go on sale later this year, and though Ford hasn’t released many of its official specs, that information is sure to go public soon. We do know that the model will be 500 pounds lighter than its predecessor, likely increasing fuel efficiency.

An In-Depth Look at the Ford EcoBoost Engine

Most vehicle manufacturers choose between efficiency and power when developing the engines for their vehicles. However, Ford is not like most vehicle manufacturers. Ford wanted to give its drivers the best of both worlds, which is why the automaker developed the Ford EcoBoost Engine.

In order to achieve a beautiful balance between power and fuel efficiency, Ford uses two different methods for its EcoBoost Engines: turbocharging and direct injection.

Turbocharging involves forcing more air, and thus more fuel, into the engine. The result is a more powerful output from the EcoBoost Engine.

Meanwhile, direct injection is a specialized means of fuel injection. Direct injection cuts out any unnecessary steps and delivers fuel straight to the engine. The less complicated process makes Ford’s vehicles more efficient.

So what kind of Ford vehicles can come equipped with the Ford EcoBoost Engine? EcoBoost models include the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Escape, Edge, Explorer, F-150, and many more. When it comes to offering a better engine to drivers, the Ford EcoBoost Engine gives them the power and efficiency that they want out of an engine.

Ford Develops Specialized 2017 Ford Fusion Cupholders

The team behind Ford’s extensive lineup of vehicles knows that every aspect of the car, no matter how small, must be tailored to meet the driver’s needs. That’s the exact thought process behind the implementation of a new feature for the 2017 Ford Fusion.

According to a Ford press release, Ford has developed specialized 2017 Ford Fusion cupholders.

Ford worked on five key areas when developing the new cupholders: bottle size, cupholder reach, cupholder grip, alternate cupholder uses, and different cup sizes.

After examining the issues drivers face with each of these categories, the Ford team was able to develop a cupholder design that would solve the problems drivers had with those issues.

“Being dissatisfied with your cupholders may be a minor annoyance, but it’s a daily one, which over time detracts from the overall car experience,” said Jolanta Coffey, Ford instrument panel and console manager. “On the other hand, when you like your cupholders, they can make your vehicle feel like home. For Fusion, we set out to develop a beautiful interior, paying attention to the details that make people fall in love and stay in love with their car.”

Ford is dedicated to making vehicles like the 2017 Fusion more convenient for drivers, no matter how small the convenience may be.

Spring Cleaning Your Car

Spring means it’s time for spring cleaning. So while you’re spring cleaning your house, why not spring clean your car, too? Here are some tips to help clean your car.

  1. Wash the underbody – Driving in the winter can coat the bottom of your car with salt and other grime, which can cause corrosion. Make sure you hose out the underneath of your car with water.
  2. Scrub the outside – Winter salt can also damage your car’s paint. Give it a thorough cleaning and wax. Sprays don’t clean as well. Scrub the bottom of the doors, too, because they can collect grime. Silicone spray works best on this.
  3. Clean out the inside – Remove winter items you won’t need anymore and do a general emptying of the clutter inside your car.
  4. Replace wiper blades – Wiper blades can get worn out over the winter, so make sure they’re ready to handle the rain by replacing them for the spring.
  5. Check your fluids – Winter weather can deplete some fluids. Make sure all of your fluids are topped off. Windshield wiper fluid is the one that’s most easily depleted so make sure there’s enough.

Ford Introduces F-150 MVP Edition

Ford has always been the leader when it comes trucks, but it doesn’t mean the automaker can’t try something new. Ford is saluting the Kansas City Royal’s world championship by announcing a limited Ford F-150 MVP edition.

There will only be 300 of these special edition trucks released, so they’ll be in high demand. It’s based off the F-150 XLT chrome package. It can be either in Oxford White or Blue Flame to salute KC’s colors.

This truck started as an idea from Marc Lasalle, a Kansas City Royals fan, to celebrate the team’s second world championship. The last salute to the Royals was the 1986 Ford Ranger MVP edition, which was created to celebrate Kansas City’s first world championship.

“Like our manufacturing team members at Kansas City Assembly Plant, the Kansas City Royals are a great example of what terrific teamwork can accomplish,” said Gary Johnson, Ford vice president for North America manufacturing.

Ford personally worked with Bret Saberhagen from the 1985 team roster, and Salvador Perez from the 2015 team, to promote the F-150 MVP Edition.

For now, you can only get the F-150 MVP Edition at Kansas City area dealers, but that doesn’t mean you can’t admire it from afar.
